Absolutely the BEST polymer pistol on the market!
I have owned nearly everything out there: Beretta, HK, Sig, Glock, XD, CZ, Kimberly (& most other 1911's), etc...
This M&P is the last pistol I will ever need to buy (although I quickly bought the compact .45 after this full-size arrived).
Did a little polishing on the trigger components & shaved off a tiny bit of material off the sear (Google Dan Burwell Trigger) and this thing is nearly as sweet & short as a 1911, but smoother!
Accurate doesn't even begin to describe it, it's almost not a challenge anymore, it nearly shoots perfect scores all by itself.
High capacity 15-1 in the pipe of potent .40, solid mags that do not require a wrestling match to fill, all abidextrous controls, a nice beavertail and the thing literally fits like a glove (& has 3 different size backstraps if you need them).
That was truly the selling point for me. Glock, Sig, Beretta, & HK all feel like I'm holding onto a house brick with a trigger attached. Nooooooo, the M&P is sculpted and has curves that would make Salma Hayek jealous...seriously fits like it was actually made to fit IN and WITH the human hand & it's Biomechanics.
S&W really hit this out of the park. They really need to spread the word w/ more advertising, this is really NOT a polymer handgun to let slip past you.
Even the factory trigger is not all that bad. Still light years ahead of a factory Glock trigger (which honestly feels like a cheap toy gun trigger, sorry Glock, but you still have other good qualities).
Only mod I did was slap on a set of XS Big Dot night sights, but I doubt they are the reason the M&P is so dang accurate.
So go out and pick it up, you'll probably leave the store with it and try to sell your current BRICK & CLUNKY carry piece!!!
Thanks MP for bringing my trek for a perfect fitting & perfect accurate carry piece to an end...no more searching and shopping....well, except for ammo, bolsters, and a few spare mags.
