I bought a Springfield XD45 .45ACP 5" Bi-Tone Tactical pistol back when it was first released. I did my own trigger job on it (wasn't all that bad right out of the box) and installed Trijicon Night sights on it. I work for my areas sheriff's office and the very first time I fired this weapon was on one of our qualifications days. I had 1 practice session before the daylight and dim light qualifications began. Man, let me tell you, this thing was dead on. It tore the center out of the target and had many of the other deputies in aw. Needless to say, I shot perfect scores for both daylight and dim light qualifications. If you like a .45ACP pistol similar to a Glock design, but with the grip of the 9mm or 40 calibers, you'll love this pistol. The only draw backs are there are few aftermarket parts out there. I can not find any parts or kits for the trigger. I have all of my Glocks set up with pre-travel and over travel adjustments. I have the Springfield's trigger pull just about where I want it, but the pre-travel and over travel are not. Apparently, one would have to send it back to Springfield for some custom work or to a competent gunsmith. As far as myself, I would, and someday I will, send it back to Springfield for this. Be sure to get the right night sights or the pistol will shoot either too high or too low. If my memory serves me correctly, you would want to use the Sig P-220 front sight to be dead on. Don't hold me to this, contact Springfield regarding this issue.
